Mark Andryczyk obtained his Ph.D. in Ukrainian Language and Literature at the University of Toronto in 2005. Presently, he teaches Ukrainian Literature at the Slavic Department, Columbia University and is the Administrator of the Ukrainian Studies Program at Columbia's Harriman Institute. His monograph, "The Intellectual as Hero in 1990s Ukrainian Prose," was published by the University of Toronto Press in Spring 2012. He is a translator of contemporary Ukrainian literature with many published translations of Ukrainian prose and poetry.
